Epilepsy Walk

Today our family walked around Greenlake for the Pacific Northwest Epilepsy Walk in support of cousin Miranda. Find out more here: http://efnw.kintera.org/faf/home. Miranda was top individual fundraiser, and our team that she was the captain of, Carpe Diem, raised $6,000. Great job, Miranda!

After the walk, Chelsea and I went to breakfast with Steph & Dan to Portage Bay Cafe, yum! Chels is currently dog sitting for this cute little white fluffy dog named Chloe, so after breakfast we went back to Chloe's house to hang out with her. Very cute, except for her high-pitched bark! Had a little nap and then went to Aunt Cathy & Uncle Sandy's to hang out with Grandpa Jack before he heads back to California tomorrow. We had Piecora's pizza, which is where Chels & I had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding last summer. We had delicious food for all of our meals today! A pretty good Saturday~~especially since neither Chels nor I had to work :) Here's Kitten helping me write this blog post:

Sidewalk Sale!

The annual University Village Sidewalk Sale is happening this weekend in Seattle. And the best part? The Fisher Scone truck! :) They sell the best scones EVER!!! Best $1.25 I've spent in a long time... For those of you who don't know, the U Village is the open air shopping center I work in. Find out more here: http://www.uvillage.com/. Yesterday was the first day of the sidewalk sale and people go crazy for the deals. There's something about digging through bins that people love, like they're going to strike gold. The messier, the better! I had the pleasure to close the store last night and it was mayhem. Mayhem, I say! Stores put their goods on tables on the sidewalk for the sale (which I'm sure you've gathered from the name) or just directly on the sidewalk in our case because of the size of the merchandise we put out, mostly furniture. There are many deals to be had :) Check out the shoes I got for me (a blue pair for Chels, too) for our Costa Rica trip next year. Half price, woo-hoo!

It was a beautiful day in Seattle today. Check out Snuggie basking in the sun:

She's so cute!

Here's another cutie, too! Clarabelle was a flower girl last weekend in one of Ashley's best friends weddings. We get to see her and the rest of Candace's side of the family in less than a month, yay! :)

Pretty in Pink

This afternoon we went to the Meadowbrook neighborhood Farmer's Market and got these beautiful peonies. I love peonies! The fragrance it wonderful, and they remind me of my childhood--my grandma on my Mom's side had a huge flower garden with multiple different colored peonies. The smell always brings me back to that time, growing up on the farm :)

Wednesday night we went to see the new Sex and the City 2 movie with our friends Todd and Marit. It was pretty silly, but entertaining. Gotta love the clothes & shoes they wear!

This past Thursday was Chelsea's 26th birthday! Here's a picture of her riding her new bike :) We had an eventful day: first we went on our ritual Thursday morning walk with Stephanie and Aunt Cathy. We even had birthday tiaras!

Chels and I got our hair cut next, then Aunt Cathy took us to the new Robin Hood movie. I was sure what to expect but it was pretty good, action-packed and entertaining...

And then the family all came to Aunt Cathy & Uncle Sandy's for a birthday dinner. We had hummus, pita, shrimp, asparagus, rice, tzatziki, and a chocolate cream pie & ice cream for dessert. Yum!

All in all, a very fun day! Happy birthday to you, sweetheart :)

Last night we went to the new Seattle Hard Rock Cafe and heard our friend Lindsay's band, Lindsay Fuller and the Cheap Dates, and it was awesome! The Cafe just opened last month downtown and the space is pretty cool--it looks very Seattle with exposed beams and natural wood decor. The sound was great and the band "rocked at the Hard Rock" as one of the band members put it :) Todd, Danny, Tara and Kelsey came to the show with us, good times! We also got to pick up Lindsay's latest album The Last Light I See, which is what we've been listening to since last night. Happy Sunday!
