Candace and Chelsea Getting Married, Courthouse Style!

Well, it's official!  As of December 13, 2012, we're legally married in the state of Washington.  Woo-hoo!  As I promised, here are pictures our dear friend Jamie took of our courthouse wedding, and celebration afterward.

Cousin Claire and our good friend Todd were our witnesses.  At the courthouse were also: "cousin" Sean, and our friends Marit and Jamie.

The ceremony was very beautiful.  We had an awesome judge, and she put her own special touches on the ceremony.  This is a reading she did:

The Art of Marriage

A good marriage must be created.
In the marriage, the little things are the big things.
It is never being too old to hold hands.
It is remembering to say "I Love You" at least once a day.
It is never going to sleep angry.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives.
It is standing together to face the world.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family.
It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways.
It is having the capacity to forgive and forget.
It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow.
It is a common search for the good and the beautiful.
It is not only marring the right person, it is being the right partner.

Isn't that beautiful?  It was very touching.  Chels and I both had a few tears in our eyes!

After the courthouse ceremony, we went to dinner. Cousins Miranda and Matt, and our friends Nick and AnnMarie met us at the restaurant for the celebration.  It was a memorable and fun occasion!

Special thanks to our friend Jamie Bayliss for her beautiful photography to document another special milestone in our lives (she also photographed our engagement pictures). Visit her website here: www.jamiebayliss.com to see all her great work.  Thank you, Jamie!
